The Be-Attitudes, pt 1

To be ‘poor in spirit’ is to realize that no matter how much we earn, no matter how much we save, no matter how much we give, no matter how much we possess, no matter how much we achieve, no matter how much we accumulate, no matter how much we build, no matter how far we go, no matter how much we clean ourselves up, we are empty, alone, and hopeless without God. This isn't a call to false humility but to an honest understanding of our need for God's grace.
