Count the Cost, pt 3

Jesus has made it unmistakably clear that there is a debt to be paid. As His prospective disciple, we must settle the question of who we love, how we live, and what we own. In other words, Christ does not ask for a place in our lives—He demands 1st place in our lives. He does not ask for partial devotion—He requires complete surrender. And yet the irony of the gospel is this: when we give Christ everything, we discover that He has already given us everything through the cross. The One who asks for our lives is the One who first gave His life for us.
