Standing in the Gap

The Bible paints a vivid picture of the roles and responsibilities of a pastor. Ezekiel says God searched for someone to “stand in the gap.” Paul told the Ephesian elders that the Holy Spirit makes men “overseers of the flock.” Timothy was charged to “preach the word in season and out of season.” And Nehemiah shows us that leaders must labor with a trowel in one hand and a sword in the other.
