The Ark needed a home…a structure to honor God and also to provide a permanent place for the Ark. David wanted to build a house for God. Instead, God offered to build a house for David! While David was looking at the temporary, God was looking at generations down the ancestral line!

Isn’t that often the case? We look at the ‘here and now’, while God looks at the ‘there and later’! Here, David wanted to create a resting place for the Ark, but God wanted to make a royal lineage for Jesus!
